Tenebrae

A Good Friday evening service recreating the emotional aspects of the passion story. We leave the church in darkness to await our Lord’s resurrection.   Volunteers are needed to read and help with the service.

May Crowning

An over 80 year old tradition at St. Benedict Parish that occurs on the first Sunday evening in May to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of the May. A young woman from the parish is chosen to be the May Queen, youth group members are asked to be in the court and the girls from the First Holy Communion class are asked to be flower girls. All women and girls in the parish are invited to participate in the traditional procession.
